How do I fix connection issues for Swing Optix® cameras?

  1. Identify your PC's USB 3.0 ports: Identify the USB 3.0 ports on your PC by looking for a blue/red/orange color, a lightning bolt symbol, or the letters "SS" next to them.
  2. Connect directly via USB 3.0: Connect the cameras directly to these ports. Do not use any adapters, hubs, or extension cables, except for USB 3.0 Type-C to USB 3.0 Type-A adapters and active extension cables*.
  3. Space them apart: Plug the cameras into different sides of your PC if possible. For example, if one camera is plugged into the back of the PC, plug the other one into the top or front of the PC. If they are side-by-side or on the same row of USBs (aka same USB controller), they overload that USB controller, resulting in a lower framerate (anywhere between 15-90 fps typically, rather than the expected 120 fps).
  4. Focus the cameras: Remove any lens covers, and if applicable adjust your camera image by adjusting the focus, aperture, and/or zoom. This is done by rotating the dials on the cameras—the dials are fairly sensitive, so take your time with small adjustments.
  5. Check your lighting: Confirm you have enough lighting for the cameras—high-speed cameras open and close the shutter more often than standard cameras, so more light is needed in the environment for it to not appear to be dark. This is important since darker environments will typically look grainy.
  6. Post-processing adjustments: For Swing Optix® cameras, you can adjust the image in VIEW only after they have been registered through Uneekor Launcher's device setup. After registration, navigate to the Swing page in VIEW, click the slider button in the top-right of the rightmost camera panel, and finally select the Swing Optix tab. From there, you can adjust the post-processing sliders and configure them to what is best for your lighting environment—this will take some time to tweak to your liking, so take your time to find the best configuration for you. For third-party cameras, they may have their own interface to adjust post-processing. It is recommended to look at the user manual or search online for how to do so.

If you've tried these steps and are still experiencing connectivity issues, we recommend you contact Customer Experience at support@uneekor.com for further assistance.

*Extension cables will not work with our provided 21' cable, due to the cable's built-in repeater. If you do this, you will either see either no connection or an unstable connection. Only cables without a repeater included will work with active extension cables.

Failure to follow the tips above may result in lowered framerate (due to either data transfer limits or power draw limits for your PC's USB ports), or a poor camera image (due to the cameras themselves being unfocused or the post-processing sliders being improperly configured).
