What is a golf simulator, and how does it work?

A golf simulator (aka launch monitor or swing analyzer) is a measuring instrument that accurately tracks ball (and optionally club) data in the golf simulator industry. It works by using various technologies (i.e., radar, photometric, etc.) to detect the ball strike and measure flight path, speed, spin rate, and other data metrics.

Uneekor launch monitors work using photometric technology, consisting of high-speed cameras combined with infrared light to capture detailed shot data. This includes our patented Dimple Optix technology*, which captures the dimples of any golf ball, providing the most accurate spin rate possible.

The QED launch monitor does not utilize Dimple Optix, but instead tracks the markings on the QED marked balls.
